I once encountered a reader very much like the one in the first question. I haven’t done all my market research yet, but it seems that many Tarot readers with their own shops and flashing “PSYCHIC” signs often pull this routine. It’s much better to find a reader through word-of-mouth, or a website like this where you can understand the reader’s philosophy before you start writing checks.
(I do disagree with the every-six-months reading idea. I find that one month is a more reasonable interval, just because some Tarot cards are so short-term. But it’s all in what you intend.)
